The TI is community-run - it is there for the teams who define and pay for the services, which are the Accredited (and Certified) teams. These teams chose from their midst 3 representatives who form the TI Review Board. This Board oversees and steers the TI effort. The chair of TERENA's Task Force CSIRT (tf-csirt) is the 4th member of the Review Board.
The TI Community has asked TERENA to act as financial clearing house and to provide a legal entity for contracting the TI services. TERENA is therefore also represented on the Review Board and provides its secretary.
The Review Board performs the following tasks:
Support and foster the acceptance and recognition of the TI framework and service;
Set and change TI policies and framework, in close cooperation with the TI Team;
Review the TI service - thence advise on tariff and contract issues with regards to the TI;
Handle specific inquiries about the functioning of the TI service;
Decide about any special issues arising from the TI service;
Formally certify accredited teams who have successfully completed the TI Certification process.
