Travel to Jerez

Below you find some indications which are useful for most of us. Certainly you can go either to Madrid or Seville by plane and take a rental car - or the bus - to get to Jerez.

By Plane to Jerez

Jerez has a regional airport, which brings tourists especially in summer time. The connections from Madrid as hub for almost all visitors from outside Europe takes a little over 1 hour and prices are available (as of now) starting with EUR 60 (one-way). Several flights per day are available, depending on your carrier no code sharing flights might be available.

By Train from Madrid or Seville

If you are going to take a flight to Madrid or Seville, you still need to go Jerez. While regional flights are available from Madrid, fast trains are a real alternative!

Jerez is 466 km away from Madrid. The shortest travel time by the very good fast trains(and without changes) is between 4 and 4.5 hours. There are two departures in the morning until 10:00 and seven until the late afternoon around 17:00. For a roundtrip (economy) expect approximately EUR 140.

The fast trains are also going from Seville without changes, taking a little more than 1 hour. The roundtrip (economy) is about EUR 60-70 (pending further choices).

Ice Breaker and Social Event

The ice breaker will take place at 19:00 (7:00 p.m.) on Tuesday, 3rd February.

The social event will take place either on Wednesday, 4th February, or Thursday, 5th February. We expect to start a little early for Spanish dinner events at 19:00 (7:00 p.m.).

Please note: Sponsorship opportunities are still available for both events!

Weather and local Activities

In February it is usually mild, not warm like in summer, with cooler temperatures. Please expect average lows between ( 2°C to 10°C (35°F and 50°F) and average highs from 10°C to 18°C (50°F to 65°F).

Some local Activities recommended by our local host:

  • Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art: This is a must-see, especially if you're a horse enthusiast. Their show, "How the Andalusian Horses Dance," is in an indoor arena, and the ticket includes access to the gardens and a small museum.
  • Sherry Bodegas: Jerez is famous for its sherry, so visiting a bodega is a key experience, even if you do not drink alcohol. February is a good time as any to do this, but his more comfort without the summer heat.
